Information Literacy and the General Capabilities within the Inquiry Cycle

Held on Thursday 31 October 2019 at Thebarton Senior College, 40 Ashley Street, Torrensville, SA 5031.

Information and Digital Literacies are fundamental to the Inquiry Cycle. This seminar focussed on the capabilities students must develop in order to function in society.

Library Tours

A tour of libraries was held on Saturday 21 September 2019.

We started at Golden Grove High School for a tour of the refurbished library, followed by morning tea.
Then we moved on to the Tea Tree Gully Public Library to find out about the collections and services available there.

SLASA SACE Literature Evening

Held on Tuesday 7 May 2019 at the Education Development Centre.

Various presentations highlighting strategies to assist senior students select book and film titles to achieve requirements for components of the SACE English course.

Reaching your Goals with Performance Planning PD event

Held on Tuesday 19 February 2019 at the Education Development Centre.

This hands on workshop provided participants the opportunity to:

  • Develop confidence in using the Professional Standards for Teachers to write Annual Professional/Performance Development plans
  • Purposefully use the standards to evidence the impact of the teacher librarian on student learning and the professional development of colleagues
  • An introduction to annotating evidence using the Professional Standards.
