Join us for an engaging evening of professional learning, networking, and community connection at the 2025 SLASA Annual General Meeting (AGM). This year, we’re excited to feature a keynote presentation from the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, led by Zoe Cassim, Head of Programs for ILF. Following the keynote, we will have breakout sessions on key library topics.

Below are the program details:

6:15 PM – Welcome
Settle in and connect with fellow SLASA members as we begin the evening.

6:30 PM – Keynote Presentation: Indigenous Literacy Foundation
Discover the vital work of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and learn how we, as library professionals, can support and promote Indigenous stories and voices in our school libraries.

Keynote Speaker:
Zoe Cassim is a Widjabul/Wia-bul woman from Bundjalung Country in Northern NSW with over 10 years of experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander not-for-profit organisations, particularly in education. She has delivered workshops, panels, and cultural competency projects across rural and remote communities in Australia. Zoe currently manages the ILF Programs Team, including regional staff in Katherine and the Tiwi Islands, and collaborates with the Community Publishing Projects team to extend the Foundation’s reach in remote Australia, supporting communities on their literacy journeys.

7:15 PM – SLASA Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Stay up to date with SLASA’s achievements, plans for the year ahead, and opportunities to get involved.

7:45 PM – Supper Break
Enjoy light refreshments while networking with peers.

8:15 PM – Breakout Sessions
Choose from three practical sessions led by experienced library professionals:

  • Academic Integrity
  • Collection Development Policy
  • Creating an Events Calendar for Your School

This is a great opportunity to gain insights, share ideas, and leave with actionable strategies to implement in your school library. We encourage all SLASA members to attend the AGM and play an active role in shaping the future of our association.

Please contact the SLASA Team at slasa@slasa.asn.au if you have any queries.

We look forward to seeing you there!
